Today I was pleased to attend my first SCBWI regional conference here in Portland. SCBWI stands for Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and I had the privilege to hear to some excellent talks by speakers including E. B. Lewis, Karen Cushman, and Maria Middleton. Walking away inspired, I have a little fire burning under my bum to get crafty in the studio and ready for the next conference!
